Triangle Spider's Web Shawl
This intermediate version of Spider’s Web uses the same Spider Cluster stitch motif as the rectangular version, but adds triangular shaping and full icord edging.
This stitch pattern began life with a more complex version of this stitch (which I came across as “Crown Stitch”). Crown Stitch runs into a number of problems when knitted repeatedly in the same row and also is hard to knit on circular needles. I’ve played with the stitch many times in many variations - it’s stunning, unusual, and deeply pleasing to me
Skills used (for Intermediate knitters)
Knitting flat, yarn overs, slipped stitches, alternating row colours, the cluster technique, increases, decreases, icord cast on, integrated icord construction, icord bind-off and grafting
It's made with light aran/worsted weight yarn.
